Analogous Colours at MMM

Good morning folks on a glorious and warm sunny day which I hope you have too as it feels like Summer at long last. We probably need to make the most of it too as the weather is so changeable at the moment.
We have a new challenge for you today at Make My Monday where we are continuing with Mynnette's colour wheel theme for July and this week the theme is Analogous Colours with the chosen hues being Light Blue, Turquoise and Dark Blue.
This immediately brought the seaside to mind for me and I broke out another of my Michael Powell stamps for my card.

The background paper for this was made using the same mottled paper technique as my last card and Distress inks in Tumbled Glass and Stormy Sky. I then stamped on the Hampton Art distressed stripes with Chipped Sapphire and Memories Mermaid Teal.
I stamped the beach hut scene with VersaFine Majestic Blue on thick smooth cartridge paper and coloured the image with Aquamarkers in shades of blue.
I added a dark blue mat to the cut out image and a Papermania sentiment stamped with the same dark blue ink. Simples!

The Design Team have made a huge variety of samples for your inspiration so do hop over to see how many ways to interpret the challenge.
Have a great day.
Hugs, Fliss xx

  20. A wonderful card Fliss, the distressed stripes really add texture and dimension. Before I read your post I thought they had been made with dimensional paste and a comb.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful work with us at Crafting When We Can Challenges. :-) xx
