Trains, Planes and Automobiles

Hello folks, hoping you're all managing to have a good weekend. It's been very dismal and wet here with very strong winds so not a good day for going out but perfect for crafting so I'm trying to get all my DT work sorted and done ahead of time instead of at the last minute!
A big hello to my new followers too and great to have you here but now on to the new challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenges and the theme for the fortnight is
 Trains, Planes and Automobiles

I actually struggled with this a bit as the men in my family like the sea so I was stuck with using my trusty vintage car stamp again and have made a fairly simple, unfussy card with it which I hope you'll like.

I stamped the car with black Archival ink and coloured the image with a mix of Prismacolor pencils and Promarkers then die cut it with a Nestabilities label die and added it to a dark red mat. I punched holes at each side and added screw head brads and some tied twine.
I made an embossed background panel with the Cuttlebug cogs folder and inked with with Mustard Seed Distress ink then swiped the raised areas with Wild Honey.
I then made a stamped panel using a piece of card inked with the Mustard Seed and repeatedly stamped with a grid pattern and the Wild Honey.
I assembled the card as you see, adding some nail and screw brads and a greeting made with a Dymo machine and black tape.
Simples!

My fellow Fashionettes have made some awesome creations for your delight so do pop over for some real inspiration. We have a lovely sponsor in Marina of Cottage Crafts who will be giving our random winner a 7euro voucher for her online shop.

Have a lovely Sunday.

  8. Hi Fliss, gorgeous card, beautiful stamping. I too tend to go with a sea theme for masculine cards so this challenge was a change for me too.

  16. Hi Fliss
That mustard coloured background is so striking and I like the way you added texture to that panel.
I am so late with my comments as it is now Monday. We had some snowfall but hopefully there will not be much more. Beautiful to look at but everything tends to grind to a halt if there is too much of the white stuff.
    Have a lovely week.
    Wishes
