Good evening folks, I hope you've all had a lovely start to the weekend. Our sunshine came back at lunchtime after being smothered by sea mist for a bit.
I've managed to fit in a bit of crafting today and have made a card which fits a few challenges. I really enjoyed making it as I've been playing with my Distress inks again trying out one of Sir Tim's fabulous techniques and getting rather inky in the process.
The technique I've used to make the background and the mat behind the gorgeous bird panel use this week's technique of Linda's Grungy Monday Challenge and you can find out all about it if you click on the link below.
For the background paper, I used Shabby Shutters, Tattered Rose, Milled Lavender, Scattered Straw and Frayed Burlap DIs. The mat uses Crushed Olive, Victorian Velvet and Forest Moss.
I stamped Crafty Individuals CI - 173 flourish on the paper in Shabby Shutters and Tattered Rose and on the mat in Forest Moss.
I then cut 3 4cm squares, inked these with Crushed Olive and Victorian Velvet and stamped the flourish in the same inks.
I stamped the adorable little birds (Crafty Individuals CI - 193) with VersaFine Vintage Sepia ink on cream card and trimmed to leave a narrow border.
I assembled the card using the sketch from Moving Along With The Times:
I finished off with metal photo corners, metal butterfly charms and a layered flower embellishment made by colouring Prima basics with Promarkers and fixing together with an ornate metal brad.
My card is for the following challenges:
Crafty Individuals May Challenge - Free As A Bird
Aud Sentiments - No Sentiment
Moving Along With The Times - Sketch
Rainbow Lady's Challenge - With A Flourish
Studio L3 Grungy Monday 07 - Tim Holtz Technique
Thanks for looking,
Fliss xx
