Hello everyone, hope you've all been having a good week. I'm very excited as tomorrow I'm going to the Make It show at Farnborough for the first time with some of my crafty friends.
I'm here now with a card I made from the pieces of my demo at the class I held on Monday which I finally managed to put together.
I couldn't resist this stamp when I saw it as the little owls are so adorable. The stamp is by Blue Moon and I stamped it with Memento black ink and then coloured the images with Promarkers in Satin, Cinnamon, Tan, Terracotta and Dark Brown. I smudged Crushed Olive Distress ink round the edges.
The background was made by partially embossing a square of white card with the Cuttlebug leafy branch folder. I then sponged on Crushed Olive ink and swiped it over the raised areas for a stronger contrast. I stamped a Hero Arts stitched leaf design in Crushed Olive and Peeled Paint. I then pierced holes all around the edges and added faux stitching with a brown fine liner.
I assembled the card with a piece of stitched braid and a greeting - the scalloped frame is by Polka Doodles and the text is Hobby Art.
I'm entering my card in the following challenges:
Allsorts - Week 91 Inspired By Nature
I Love Promarkers - Stitching
Thanks for looking,
Fliss x

Altered Wooden Stamp Block
Happy Monday everyone and hope you all had a good weekend and managed to get some crafting done.
I've been doing some altering using a wooden stamp block as the base. I took the original stamp off some time ago and put it on Ezimount as the block was much too big for the stamp and made positioning very difficult.
As the block stands up well by itself, I decided to make a double sided piece of artwork for variety.
I'm entering it in the following challenges, both with a theme of altering or recycling:
Allsorts Challenge and also Tuesday Taggers Challenge
Ingredients Used:
The Lady with Veil photo stamp came from Ali Crafts-she's called Maude and is by Stampsmith ( thanks to Sally for letting me know the make are due here).
The Lady with Roses I've had for a while and can't remember the make but will add if I can find it.
Rose by Time to Stamp, Ornate Shape by Artemio
Ranger Distress Inks-Victorian Velvet, Scattered Straw, Mustard Seed, Peeled Paint, Worn Lipstick, Spun Sugar and Vintage Photo
Stewart Superior Palette inks-Belle Rose, L'Amore Red, Boudoir Blush, Black
Vintage Pink Glimmer Mist
Cuttlebug Folders, Victoria, Textile, Organic Flourishes Borders
H20 Paints in Rose Gold and Gold Dust
Flowers and Roses
German Gold Scrap
Martha Stewart Lattice Border Punch
Acrylic Paint in gold
Coral Accent Beads
This is actually quite simple to make. The Cuttlebug embossed panels were sponged with the Distress inks and then spritzed with the Glimmer Mist. The stamped panels were stamped with the Palette inks and then sponged with Distress inks.
The photo stamps were stamped on semi gloss paper with black ink and sponged with Distress inks to colour when dry.
The rose lady panel was stuck to a slightly larger panel of double sided adhesive film and Accent Beads added to make a frame.
The veiled lady was stuck to a panel embossed at the base with one of the organic flourish borders. This side was finished with flowers altered with the H20 paints.

Love Cat
Hello everyone, another day, another challenge-well 2 actually! My card is bright and sunny unlike today's weather which is really dull but al least it's not raining.
I'm entering this one in this week's Allsorts challenge which is Hearts and Flowers and also this week's challenge at Incy Wincy Designs which is called Colour Me Wonderful and you have to use your favourite colouring medium which in my case (as if you hadn't noticed!!!) is to use inks in various creative ways.
The image I've used is from Alison at Stretch 'n' Bubbles and as you can see, her shop has the most gorgeous whimsical images. She also has freebies on offer to her followers every so often so why not pop over and check out her shop. To me the greatest thing about digital stamps is that once you have them, they can be resized and altered really easily to fit your particular project. I resized this one slightly and printed it out on both white and pink card.
I coloured the cat using my Millefiori technique (see sidebar for the technique labels) using pink and yellow inks. I cut out various parts of the pink image and adhered them on the floral cat. I then added a heart sticker.
For the background, I printed out the pretty daisy paper from the latest Polka Doodles Love & Cherish CD and added some colour by sponging with the pink and yellow inks. I ran my pink panel and a yellow one through the Cuttlebug with the Floral Fantasy folder. I trimmed the edges of the yellow panel with scallop scissors and sponged on some deeper yellow ink.
The card was assembled as shown, with the addition of some ribbon, daisies and some Prima leaves. The greeting is from the Polka Doodles Back to Nature CD.

Light A Candle
I'm finding these challenges a really great way to get some of my special Christmas cards done as I haven't actually got that far with mine yet. Too much blogging I think!
This card is for the Sophisticat challenge with the theme of ribbon and buttons and was chosen by Cheryl. A great theme too.
As the card has lots of bling in the way of glitter, jewels and sparkle, I'm also entering it in the Allsorts challenge as the theme this week is bling.
There's quite a lot of bling on this which you can't see that well in the photo so it might look better if you click on the pic to enlarge it.
Ingredients Used:
Penny Black Candle
Snowflakes by Art Impressions and Denami
Embossing powder: Silver and Jewelled Gold
Embossing ink
Lavender Sachet Palette ink
VersaColor ink: Lilac, Orchid
Glitter glue, jewels, paper flowers and leaves
Velvet ribbon, flower shaped button
The background paper here was made by sponging the lilac inks on card and then stamping on snowflakes with the Palette ink. Further snowflakes were stamped on with embossing ink and embossed with silver powder. The whole panel was covered with embossing ink and embossed with the translucent jewelled gold. Gives lots of bling!
The candle was stamped and embossed then coloured with watercolour pencils. Glitter accents were added.
