I'm back! It's Polka Doodles challenge time today and this week the theme is Anniversaries.
I've taken the opportunity to share one of the samples I made for Nikky with the new Emma Canning Digistamp Heaven CD as the image is rather appropriately called Happy Anniversary.
I printed the image out on to thick cartridge paper and coloured it with Aquamarkers. I then hand cut it into a heart shape and inked the edges with purple.
I covered the card blank with panels of paper from my bits and pieces box, the purple one is the Sugarplum Daisy CD and the red and blue stripes are from the Pretty Sweet CD.
I added bunting from the Cherryblossom Lane CD and some die cut hearts together with one of Emma's sentiments to finish.
Have a really great weekend.
Hugs,
Fliss xx

April Showers
Here I am again with details of the new challenge over at Polka Doodles which is to create something inspired by April Showers.
I immediately thought of the sweet image by Emma Canning called Rainy Days which you can buy on her own or as part of the new Digi Stamp Heaven CD which has loads of Emma's images and sentiments.
Here's my card:
I printed the image out on to thick, smooth cartridge paper and coloured her with a mix of Aquamarkers and pencils. I die cut the image to an oval, added faux stitching round the outside with a pokey tool and brown fine liner then inked round with a brown ink pad.
I covered the card with brown pinstripe paper and then added panels of blue paper with faux stitching added. I finished off with a die cut sentiment treated in the same way as the image panel and a paper flower with a faux button centre (Studio 12 Picknix Collection 1 CD).
This is the last of my posts scheduled to pop up whilst I'm away and I'll see you all tomorrow.
Hugs, Fliss xx

Celebrating
Hello folks, hoping you're all OK and I'm now back from my holiday in gorgeous (also mostly very hot and sunny) Switzerland. I'll be posting some of my pics over the weekend once I've finished all my chores - washing etc!
Being Friday, we have a new challenge over at Polka Doodles with the theme chosen by teamie NJ who, with the end of the Olympics looming fast wants to see a CELEBRATION project. I decided on a general theme for my card using one of the lovely Emma Canning digital images available from the Polka Doodles shop. Here's what I made:
I've gone for a pretty pink and brown colour scheme, printing out the cute Millie - Birthday image and colouring her with various Promarkers before adding a little more detail with Prismacolor pencils. I then die cut the image and inked the edges with pink ink. I added this to a die cut mat of cross check paper from the Sugarplum Daisy CD.
I covered my card blank with brown polka dot paper from the PPC3 magazine kit and added a central border of lace from the Studio 12 Picknix Collection 1 CD.
I then printed out some of the pretty digital flowers from the Sundae Of Seasons CD, coloured these with Promarkers, cut them out and made them into an embellishment with punched leaves and pearls.
I finished off with a sentiment from the Sugarplum Daisy CD, die cut and coloured with Promarkers then embellished with pearls.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Summer At The Beach
Morning folks, it's still rather hot here today but is muggy as it's cloudy at the moment so I hope the sun will come back soon. You may need sunglasses for my card here as it's rather bright! This is because the theme for the new challenge over at Polka Doodles today is Summer something we haven't seen much of this year but we can live in hope!
Here's my card and you'll now see what I mean about the sunglasses!
I made the card blank by using a large Go Kreate die offset slightly at the fold to make a pretty shape and then made a frame for the front using yellow polka dot paper from the Sugarplum Daisy CD with the same paper in blue underneath.
I used the beach hut and ice cream images from the Sundae of Seasons CD (rather appropriate don't you think lol) with the bunting from the Studio 12 Picknix Collection 1 CD. The cute image is Taylor - Camping Day by Emma Canning but I decided to imagine her heading for the beach with a parasol and wellies for wading in some rock pools. Everything was coloured with a mix of Aquamarkers and Prismacolor pencils which I love to add detail with - do you like the stripes and dots on the bunting?
I finished off with a sentiment from Sugarplum Daisy, die cut with a Nestabilities scalloped circle die and coloured up to resemble the sun.
You'll have to let me know what you think and hope you like my bright and sunny creation.
Thanks for looking and have a great day.
Hugs, Fliss xx
Challenges for my card:
Crafts and Me Challenges - Anything Goes
Whimsy Inspiration - Summer Fun
Creative Craft Challenges - Summertime
Die Cuttin' Divas - Summer Fun

Go Green and Recycle
Good morning folks, hoping this post appears as scheduled as I'm at the hairdressers at the moment having my trim up as my hair always seems to grow like it had fertiliser put on it lol
A new challenge starts today at Polka Doodles which is actually a Team A one but I had to hijack it because the theme is Go Green & Recycle which is a favourite of mine.
Here's my creation which is a vintage style card this time.
I've once again used the Paige "Wedding Day" image which I think is my favourite of Emma's cute girls and this time I've turned her dress into an evening gown. I printed again on thick cartridge paper and coloured with (you've guessed it!) Aquamarkers to give her a blue dress and dark red hair.
Here's a pic of some of the recycled items I used on the card:
I die cut an oval of the grey board and painted this with a couple of coats of dusky pink acrylic paint then stamped on the flourish flower from the Daisy Doodles stamp set with Stazon brown ink.
I made a mat for the cut out image by die cutting a smaller oval from the yogurt carton wrap which I then embossed with the c-Art-Us roses folder.
I stamped the flourish flower in the corners of a square of kraft dotty paper from the A Double Sprinkle of Kraft CD and made 2 central borders, one a scrap stamped with the same flourish flower and the other a piece of the lovely patterned tea box card.
I added a layered flower with a metal button centre and a sentiment from the Sugarplum Daisy CD to finish.
Nikky will be on Create and Craft tomorrow at 11am and 4pm with the brand new CD called Here Comes Christmas so I'm sure you can guess what I've been doing lately - it really has been Christmas in July and I'm all glittered up to prove it! The CD has the most gorgeous images yet and a HUGE amount of papers and I'll be back tomorrow to show you my favourite of the samples I made. Do watch the shows if you can as you'll love the CD!
Bye for now,
Fliss xx
Challenges for my card:
Digi Doodle Shop's Best - Anything Goes
Divas By Design - Anything Goes
Little Red Wagon - Pretty Packaging
The Paper Shelter - Anything Goes
Stampin' Royalty - Anything Goes

We're Hopping At Polka Doodles!
Good morning folks, hoping you're all having a good week and sorry for the lack of visiting - I'm up to my eyes in various stuff at the moment and there aren't enough hours in the day to do everything! I have matchsticks propping up my eyelids!
Over at Polka Doodles this week, we have a Blog Hop combined with the challenge as we're celebrating the Olympics being held in Britain at the moment (the torch is coming here very soon too) so we would like to see your creations in Red, White and Blue with a British theme to them.
Here's what I made:
I've used another of the cute Emma Canning Downloads and this one is called Paige - I Love You, perfect for all those love themed cards so mine is a special celebration one. I coloured her with Promarkers using Prismacolor pencils to add some detail then die cut her into an oval and inked the edges.
I used red dotty backing paper from Nikky's Britannia kit and hearts (I glittered the red one) from the Welcome Home Kit of the Studio 12 Picknix Collection 1 CD. The union jack heart is also from the Britannia kit and was coloured with Promarkers.
I added a piece of pearly blue card embossed with a Cuttlebug hearts folder, then embellished with a flower, bow and some red heart flourishes die cut with a Sissix die. A sentiment from Sugarplum Daisy finished off my card.
Now for the hop details as you need to do both this and the challenge to have a chance at the fabulous prizes - we have a Studio 12 Picknix Collection 1 CD for the winner and 2 runners up will receive an Emma Canning Download.
You should have arrived here from the lovely shell's blog and you need to head on next to the lovely
but don't forget to leave me a comment so that we know you've been to visit. If you get lost along the way, just hop back to the challenge blog to be set on the right track. Good luck!
Hugs,
Fliss xx

Cherish
Hello folks on yet another wet and dismal day and at this rate I think I'll soon have webbed feet as I'm sure it's only the ducks who would like this much rain!
I have a card to share with you made with one of the gorgeous and cute Emma Canning digital images that Nikky now has available for downloading at Polka Doodles.
Two of my younger daughter's friends are getting married very soon so I have some wedding cards to make and decided to get a head start.
The image is called Paige Wedding Day and I printed her out then coloured her with Promarkers adding detail to her hair with Prismacolor pencils to give some texture (largely because I'm not that great at doing this with the markers lol). I then cut her out.
I covered my card blank with some of the elegant rose paper from the Love & Cherish CD and added crochet lace and some subtle glittery Laura Ashley ribbon.
I embossed the gorgeous frame from the Sissix Roses & Frame set on to some pearly silver card and then cut it out. I added a central white panel cut to size and embossed with a Cuttlebug hearts folder. I added the image with foam tape and embellished her frock with a silver dotty bow.
I die cut a sentiment with a round Nestabilities die to finish off my card.
I also have a bit of great news to share as my Strawberries card from a week or so back won the Craft Punked Strawberries & Cream challenge - I was thrilled to bits with this and would like to thank Steph and the team for picking my creation. Here's the fab badge I just received.
Thanks for looking and hope you all have a great weekend.
Fliss xx
Challenges for my card:
Paper Pretties - Any Occasion Card
Ruby's Rainbow - Emboss It!
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
Sassy Cheryl's - Anything Goes
