Just made the deadline for this challenge due to laptop throwing a wobbly. As last time I really loved doing this and the sketch to follow is a daisy shape.
I made the daisy from full strips of 5mm quilling paper in yellow and orange in marquise shapes. Fot the leaves, I joined together half a pale green and a full mid green strip and wound them up with the pale colour in the centre. I made the finished wind slightly looser and pinched them into long marquise shapes.
The stem is made from a full green 3mm strip folded over several times and then glued together a bit. I find this makes it easier to glue the stem in place.
I cut a rectangle of white card, embossed it with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder and trimmed the edges with scallop scissors. I then glued all the daisy pieces in place.
I used a piece of backing paper made with my Millefiori technique (see side labels) in toning colours and stuck this to a white square textured card blank with a narrow yellow strip embossed with the daisy spray from the Cuttlebug With Love border set.

Rozzy's Trimcraft Quilling Sketch Challenge
Decided to enter this one having made quilled atcs a little while ago for Larrie's monthly Technique swap.
I made the quilled pieces using 5mm strips and the flower is actually bright pink but my scanner decided to make it light pink!
The background is a piece of cream card embossed using the Cuttlebug Stylised Flowers folder. I then inked the raised areas in orange and green pigment inks and the background in yellow.
I cut a narrow strip of deep green card and embossed it with the largest of the Cuttlebug Frills borders. I trimmed the bottom edge with scallop scissors.
I assembled all the pieces on a watermelon square card base.

Quilling-My First Attempt

I made these atcs for Larrie on Trimcraft's Technique Swap and the one for this month is quilling. As I've never done it before, I was rather nervous and got off to a bit of a shaky start. I wasn't happy with the background of the first one so set it aside while I made the second one which was the blue floral spray. After this I felt a lot more confident so redid my pink flower and then made the dragonfly followed by the butterfly. The backgrounds of these atcs are all recyled, 2 using the backing paper from the qulling papers and the other 2 were cut from an old copy of French Vogue and coloured with Distress inks in Shabby Shutters and Spiced Marmalade.
Although the technique is fiddly, I really enjoyed doing it once I got going and will be doing more in the future as I like making my own embellishments and the quilled flowers could add just the right finishing touch to my stamped creations.
