Monday is here again so we have a new challenge for you over at Make My Monday. We're continuing with Suzanne's lovely theme for the month of February which is (what else??!) Romance and this week it's all about Hearts and Flowers.
I've been playing yet again with my Vintage Blue set of stamps by Glitz Design which I think you'll agree is just perfect for romantic cards.
I made the background paper by inking it up with Tattered Rose and a little Victorian Velvet Distress inks then stamped the lovely rose design on with the Victorian Velvet. This stamp is quite large so it makes a background really quickly which is just as well here as my card base is 8x8.
I next made a central border by stamping Hampton Arts distressed stripes with first Victorian Velvet and then VersaFine Crimson Red. When this was dry, I sponged on some Tattered Rose to deepen the colour.
I hand cut the heart from white card and stamped on the rose with the crimson ink. I then masked off part of the text image from set set with masking tape as I wanted just the text. I inked the stamp up with crimson ink, peeled off the masking tape and then stamped the text on the heart. I inked the edges with the Tattered Rose DI.
I stamped the little birds from the set with crimson ink and cut these out. I then assembled the card as you see adding a lace border cut with a Marianne Designs lace border die.
